This release is mostly about libraries and compilers.

All builds are linked against the the latest Maya2012/2013 service packs.

Windows7 builds (VC2010)
Linux builds (gcc4.5.1 and gcc4.1.2)
OSX10.7.2 Lion builds (gcc4.2.1)

- bmesh node is excluded from the Linux gcc4.1.2 builds
- slidersManager does not work on Windows Maya2012 - seems like nasty combination of QT bugs that i cannot figure out

I think i addressed all reported problems since the last update, including many minor tweaks and fixes on my side. The most noticeable ones are fluidUpres - second pass now works properly in windows and osx. Couple of minor improvements in the slidersManager. Improved shelf hooks to the SOuP guts. Make sure you install the latest shelf along with the plugin.

I guess I will get the ball rolling by saying "THANK YOU!!!"
So great that you were able to get the gcc 412 version working officially.
Tried some of my go-to nodes and all is working perfectly.
Thanks again.
To the node editor!

upresFluid works fine at home - also second pass. thanks.
But I still get crashes on my machine at work. Is there some c++ redistributable missing here or what? I don't know anymore what can causes the problems... but I not even get an error message. Just instant Maya shutdown.

yep... but sometimes I get c++ errors in Houdini too - totally random. And Nuke...! So this might be the problem after all, is there some tool to clean up my win7 from all c++ redistributables or is the best way just to re install windows? :D Tried to install vc2010 and 2012 today, no luck.

Uh... :)

I have trouble installing soup for maya 2013.

Copied the shelf - the plugin too. However when I load the plugin nothing happens. I get a few lines in the script editor and that's it.

Also the shelf file is only 1KB in size.

Anyone kind enough to help me out?

There are also a bunch of node ID's that I remember from back 'in the day' that they have to go somewhere to avoid some type of conflict... but I can't say I'm sure where that should be.

What are the lines you get in the scripts editor ?
The shelf script is really small - just 3 icons.
The node ids are built into the plugin, i use ids assigned to me from autodesk, so they are unique.

Thanks for the reply.

The shelf is empty. So if I load the shelf from disk - I get nothing. I don't know it should be populated by the plugin (when actually loading the plugin), or if it should be already there.

I was saying that the shelf that comes with the 'installer' is really small. Only 1KB.

Script editor says:

Did you read the text?

Heh, jeremy, good one.

Btw, i actually think that everything works just fine. The plugin seems to load properly, the shelf loads fine, i think you are missing the icons, thats why the shelf appears empty.
Did you check the readme.txt ? It contains simple install instructions.

Well, if the icons weren't where they should be, then I think the shelf buttons should've still worked? However the shelf is empty...

I'll look around for a fix.

Hey gang!
Fixed it by moving the maya folder in the user documents location. Maya created fresh preferences and it launched nicely.
