Sounds good! I look forward to both a physics based asset painting tool and a revamped ray cast painting tool to replace sppaint. Maya has been due for a nice brush based scatter system like the tools found in clarisse, unreal engine etc. Would be great if it used the maya brush tool with fall offs etc. With B mapped for the radius, M the strength, ctrl+click to erase and maybe shift click to just adjust transforms like rotation/scale without adding or removing the objects already in place. This type of stuff would be very powerful and go hand in hand with the current sculpt tools etc.
I like how paintfx works with collisions etc but wish it was able to accept any kind of input object from poly models, grouped models, points or even maya references. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Thanks!
