Multiple strokes pfxToArray in to single the instancer
Cool,

Thank you very much Devid for example file.

Sorry for my silly mistake... To connect this pipe I was only trying with connect button and because It was not showing any connection points, I simply assumed that It will not work with pfxToArry node. :(

Multiple strokes pfxToArray in to single the instancer
Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to pass multiple pfx strokes array in to the single instancer node. seems like combineArrays doesn't accepts pfxToarray output.

EDIT:
sorry for the title it should be : Multiple strokes pfxToArray in to the single instancer
:)

(pfxToarry : pointCloudToMesh : point : arrayToDynarray : instancer

Here I am passing pfx leaf position in to the point node to get random index id. Which works perfect in maya 2016 with windows system. But while it comes to the Linux system it says unable to get wightPP/positionPP out from the point node. Is this something to do with SOuP Linux compiled version?

Hi Peter,

Just want to confirm If the Point node bugfix is about this report.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the updates.

I am attaching my setup file along with pipe image. (Built in maya 2016 win.)

Thank you peter for responding and considering suggestions.

Forgot to answer your other question.
You need to split the instances into different layers in order to control their scale individually.

Yes... I got this yesterday while testing it.

Quote: So... for now to fulfill this requirement I have to go with my setup, but I am stuck with the connection, where I can pipe multiple scale maps in point node to use them for each instanced ID.

Actually the reason for asking this question is specifically for below node structure which I am using right now.

Hi Peter,

I Just took a brief tour of tool instance manager, Its really Awesome. Thanks a ton for making this.

Only issue I faced is scale randomization is giving strange results. In case I put any value in random scale, some instances starts facing towards downside of the emitter surface. :(  I am attaching images for more clarification.

Regarding my topic :

Actually I was particularly looking for applying individual scale masks (procedural texture / file node) for each instanced ID. So even if my instances are in different scale ratio I can have a scale control for individual one. If I am not wrong in instance manager we do have option to paint vertex color as scale mask for individual ID, but we can not use texture node there instead of painting. Which cold be helpful for large scale distribution.

So... for now to fulfill this requirement I have to go with my setup, but I am stuck with the connection, where I can pipe multiple scale maps in point node to use them for each instanced ID.

Another point is more like suggestion......Right now I am using three different types of distribution mode in my setup one is points on mesh vertex second is gradually on each face and the third one is randomly on surface. for the first two options I am using mesh2arry node and scatter node is for the random on surface mode. with these options I am getting different results like corn field, Grass field & scattered trees etc.

If we can add above mentioned points in instance manager then I am sure It will be helpful for all..... What do u say?

Ohh... I need to update my SOup version then. I don't see anything like instanceManager in my current SOup version.

I will check and come back to you again.

right now after installing new updates its giving below error...
