Transfer vertex position to nearest particles?
Thank you guys. It's slowly for my needest but doing what i want.

@pshipkov
Really sorry. Before i posting a thread, i serching a lot on the web and 90% of my search do the job. Sometimes my keywords search is not the same as the threads, my apologies.

Transfer vertex position to nearest particles?
Hi there. Is ther a way with soup to doing this. Transfer vertex of a mesh to nearest particles?
Thank you

Point Cloud import using SOUP
Yes i know it's not simple. I imagine something that visible in maya, like Point cloud fast, and under the wood, to snapping.
It's frustrating.

Hi guys.
On this videos you see what i try to do. Right now i'm doing this with partioEmitter with maya particles, and Partio Viz for seeing the detailed point cloud. I also have dnPtcViewerNode, compiled for maya 2014 x 64 because it have a boundingBox crop, very usefull. Maybe redpawfx implemented the crop.
So the videos, see how create the curves, that snap or live on point cloud. This plugin is not avalable anymore.

Hi there, thank you redpawfx! We modeling from mesh from meshlab, but the poit cloud we have are'nt the best point cloud ever. The mesh from meshlab coming weird! You really implement something good for point cloud? A mounth 2 3 4? I'm joking. Any before august? Ahahahah :)
Thanks guys you all, are greats!

Hi peter and thank you for your help, you are absolutely great! When you have on your spare time news for me, please tell me! I'm talking about my problem with redpawfx , him suggested to me to use another software! He have right, but i using other softwares for compare my results, but we need to use maya at this time, we need a modeler, robust!
I trying also, compiling dnptcviewernode for maya 2014! I'never build in all my life, so you imagine what i can do!
Cheers

Point Cloud import using SOUP
Thank you peter. But how i can import the point cloud data? Emitter and particles as pdc? And whats the connection between paricles and soup nodes?
Is there a way to load external data point cloud not in viewport like particles but only point cloud as Soup?
This is because in your example you create a shape and create point cloud from this shape. I need the point cloud from laser scan data not from shape. Also you told me that i can snap to point cloud soup, i try it but no snap.

Thank you

I've attached a scene with partio and laser scana. It's only partio visualizer. Maybe with soup i'm able to create the same like partioViz.
After that i'm create a Partio emitter, connect to it the native maya particles, disconnect the maya emitter from particles, load on partioemitter the pts file, so i have the particles in scene and create my curve snapping the cvs to particles. So the partio visualizer is only a visualizer, no snap.
At work i have windows 7, but t home i have problem on windows 8, because the partio emitter don't load the pts well. Maybe is this.

Ok! I don'find a way to connect partio emitter to pointcloutocurve!

Oh i'm exsplain wrong. I need the CVS curve to snap on particles(pointCloud)

For now, thank you very much. And waiting for your point Cloud triangulator. You have a plan to make point cloud snapable from CVs curve and if it is fast?

Good job

Thank you Peter for the very fast response.
I imagine(delirium) a plane. A road, the laser scan point cloud from a road are medium flat, i see some software able to create the mesh exactly to the point cloud data and this mesh flatting on the point cloud.
If i have a cilinder, the upper flat part of the cilinder, in a point cloud data, i snap the CVs on the point cloud on the edge part of the cilinder, you know what i mean? I need a fast workflow to snap or projected the curve on the cilinder, but if i have a cilinder(point cloud) with the vertex non linearly is it complicated.
I'm shure i need to elaborate a bitter(more).
I'll try your workflow.

Hi there.
Find this thread helpfull for me. But i have a couple of answers. I use PartIO visualizer and Emitter. Visualizer with detailed point cloud data and emitter with low point cloud data on maya particles, for to snap a curves CVs to point(particles).
You know is hard work, but i do what i want.
did you have some workaround? I need this kind of workflow inside maya, because we need to see and modeller the curves closest to point cloud,, becuase we need more details.
You know if it possible to use "soup" for fast workflow. Is soup able to create point cloud from point cloud data .pts .ptc or .pdc or what do you want data, and snap curve to point fast then maya particles?
Is there a way to create curve based on maya particles on Z axis(Z-Up)?(remember i don't need a trailing curves)

Any help is appreciate!

Best

ScatterUI?
@SGIFreak. Thanks but no one chance for me to write script.

@pshipkov
Ok.

ScatterUI?
Is there a way to create(you create :) ) an ui like this?

Thanks
