Hi everyone,

Few months ago I developped a Particle Flow procedural system to cover objects with snow (inside of 3dsmax) :

Here my goal was to create that kind of setup with Maya SOuP. Thx to OpenVDB I also provided a way to take into account the mesh curvature  (I think I could have used the "tension Map" inside SOuP for that). Not only you can use that system to cover objects with snow but also use it to cover objects with dirt/debris/leaves/icicles.

For now I didn't output any meshes... I just covered objects "exposed" parts with points.

I provided two files to show you the concept :

- The first one will show you how you can extract curvature data using OpenVDB. I also added the BE_Ramp node to remap the curvature data. Just play with the curve to see how it affects the result.
- In the second one I extended the concept a little bit further. I used the mesh curvature data in conjunction with the mesh faces normals data to cover object with points. As usual I also created an empty group with the main attributes so it will be easier for users to play with. You can also rotate the helper to change the "exposed" faces.

Next step will be to create mesh data from that setup (debris, leaves....)
