collide
=====
- added radial blend direction using a capsule, in addition to the already existing directional method. The manipulator gizmo has an attribute that allows you to switch between directional and radial modes.
- "compass" is now replaced by the new manipulator
- fixed small bug in the GUI to make sure collision object cannot be deformed by the deformer it is influencing already
- python API update for capsule and radial blend direction
If you used in your scenes the "custom position/direction" and "blend direction" features, you will have to reconnect the manipulators (using the GUI or Python API). I had to change the attribute layout abit for the new capabilities.
- AE GUI is updated for the new features

Hi Peter. Wow you've been busy this year! Excellent updates all round.

I have a small issue with the 2017-02-11 build. When I start maya it freezes for approx 30 secs when the plugin is loaded. I'm getting the following message:

# Error: socket error
# Traceback (most recent call last):
#   File "<maya console>", line 1, in <module>
#   File "/library/rez/ext_packages/app_maya/2016.1.5.2/platform-linux/ext/lib/python27.zip/urllib.py", line 87, in urlopen

#   File "/library/rez/ext_packages/app_maya/2016.1.5.2/platform-linux/ext/lib/python27.zip/httplib.py", line 829, in _send_output
#     self.send(msg)
#   File "/library/rez/ext_packages/app_maya/2016.1.5.2/platform-linux/ext/lib/python27.zip/httplib.py", line 791, in send
#     self.connect()
#   File "/library/rez/ext_packages/app_maya/2016.1.5.2/platform-linux/ext/lib/python27.zip/httplib.py", line 772, in connect
#     self.timeout, self.source_address)
#   File "/library/rez/ext_packages/app_maya/2016.1.5.2/platform-linux/ext/lib/python27.zip/socket.py", line 571, in create_connection
#     raise err
# IOError: [Errno socket error] [Errno 110] Connection timed out #

I'm not sure if that message is very helpful, but I'll add that this is centos 6.5 and maya 2016 sp6. I dont get this problem with the 2017-02-05 build. As far as I can tell things are working after it times out, so its just a bit annoying.

Thanks
David

Wow. Things move so fast around here! Thanks Peter. I did not get a chance to try it yet. Maybe I just jump to the 2017-02-14 build... or is the problem with my config here at work where we have no internet on production machines?

David

update: 2017-02-14 build is working well. Thanks again Peter!

We are between projects at work right now and this frees up a bit of time, hence the more soup cooking.

Hard to say what the reason is, but made it to time-out in 2-3 seconds if something goes wrong.
