mirrorMesh - fixed some undo problems, added option to mirror within the same mesh(es) or create new copies

interactive GPU caching system - minor tweak related to undo stack missbehaving for some users

bake arbitrary deformations - added options for joint per vertex and re-usage of existing selected joints in addition to the scattered joints the tool shipped initially with.

pointAttributeToArray - ~20% faster

smooth, smoothSimple - PE support

faceCenters - a new node that outputs face center positions

softSelectionToWeightMap - new tool - self explanatory

blendShapesManager - added soft selection to split map weights functionality (located under the "hammer" icon

instanceManager - bake result to particles+instance = better compatibility with badly coded render translators

Copier optimizations, instanceManager border edge mask and shotmodel contour deform didn't make it in this release, will do for the next one.

Peter thank You!
I'm guessing this isn't compatible with the new Maya 2017 release that just came out today?

Hi all! Tell me please, there instanser node with a bunch of objects that move and rotate randomly, and there is a separate object, it is possible to put something like curves or Particle line from this object to every object the instance?

http://joxi.ru/bmo6R1vfMP9kyr

The idea is that these lines need to cling to the chromosomes and breaking them in half in opposite directions

you can render curves from arnold you just need to make sure that you have check the option. Im not sure exactly where it is. Also with the Cocoon you can convert those lines into poly if necessary.

You can try what sepu said.

But before that watch this video explaining some of the basics behind cocoon:
http://soup-dev.com/videos/cocoon.mp4

Go to about 1:22 and fallow the "mesh link" part. This makes the cocoon node generate mesh geometry that you can render directly in any render without any additional work needed.
