hi,

Does the gpucaher or the regular one are suitable for nCloth?

I'm asking this cause i found it quiet inefficient, interactivity wise i mean. The thing is even if it's actually caching the sim the evaluation of the ncloth will still run.

Is there a way to make it "smart" and make it bypass the evaluation when there is no changes? Cause at the moment even if i want to deactivate the nclothShape manually, having it connected to the cacher is blocking the thing.

(Also i'm having sometimes jumping frames specially with the gpu mode)

thanks

Hmm, that sounds weird.
Can you provide an example on a cloth simed napkin falling over a sphere that shows the problem ?
Thanks.

To further clarify - the nucleus system is more aggressive than how standard nodes are evaluated.
You will need to turn-off nClothShape.enable or nucleus.enable to get the speed gain, otherwise it will keep evaluating, even the objects are hidden.

yes this is what i did i tried the global  evaluate nodes and unticked ncloth, and i also tried in the node state per node option.
The thing is that the cache is playing only if the outmesh alone is connected to the cacher, if i connect the nclothShape to track changes and deactivate the ncloth the cache wont play at all.

I will pack quick scene, or making a gif

oook i found the issue, it was the Parallel evaluation; if i turn it off it works as expected. (interactive and smart)

Is this a bug or just how it is ?

This should work in PE too. Let me check. But in general - PE mode is very clunky.
