So I've tried numerous install techniques and for the life of me cannot get the OpenVDB to install on my Maya 2018. Can someone please help or at least explain how to install it using the files that are given with the the latest version of OpenVDB. i even tried to install the files on Maya 2017 and still no use. As soon as i click load plugins for the OpenVDB file path i created it says command line error.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apologize that you have trouble with that.
Can you provide the error message you are getting, so i can narrow down the problem.

Thanks.

To be fair i don't think i even installed it or placed the files where they should go in the proper places but the error i keep getting is :

Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2018/scripts/others/pluginWin.mel line 290: The specified module could not be found.
(BE_OpenVDB)

Thank you for helping!

did you do it?

installation maya
------------

1.Extract the archive wherever you want

2.Copy file shelf_OpenVdb.mel from directory "shelves" to /home/user/maya/20##/prefs/shelves

3.Open BE_OpenVDB.mod in any text editor end edit it

example
+ BE_OpenVDB 1.1 C:\Program Files\Autodesk\BE_OpenVDB

4.Copy BE_OpenVDB.mod to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya20##\modules

or create a system variable MAYA_MODULE_PATH=path where BE_OpenVDB.mod

5.Create a system variable MAYA_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_PATH=path where BE_OpenVDB\viewTemplates

or copy all .xml files from directory "viewTemplates" to /home/user/maya/20##/prefs/viewTemplates/.

6.Windows only! Install "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015", or later version.

7.Windows only! If you run maya as administrator
Create a system variable OPENVDB_DISABLE_DELAYED_LOAD=false
