Hi folks,

Learning SOuP has been on my radar for ages, last week I finally delved in a bit more. At the same time I was being forced to sculpt in Maya, which was also new to me and I was frustrated about the lack of Dynamesh (ZBrush voxel/octree remeshing). An idea was born: to script together some SOuP nodes to provide that! The current implementation and documentation are haphazard at best, but as I should not be spending much time on this right now I just wrapped all I got into a package that might somehow make sense to someone else than me.

To be honest it seems like it is not possible to get near the quality and speed of Dynamesh with my current algorithm/approach. And of course big boys do these things in C++ :)

Wonder if anyone here knows more about other similar efforts than I do..? I could not find anything that would be available to download and try out, closest things were these

(and the vimeo guys newer video).

Try openvdb first.
Level set booleans do what you are after and much more.

In the mean time I will take a closer look at your work and let you know if we can speed things up.

The video shows great promise btw.

Thanks for sharing.

Re-clarification, just in case :) neither of the videos I linked are my work. I would love to try out the fruits of either of those peoples efforts, but AFAIK theyre not available yet. I should record a little video of what I've got so far.
