Hey Peter,

I was trying to pass data from the Maya hair system's pfx node to the pfxToArray node but as expected, it doesn't work since the pfx hair node is really not a standard pfx stroke shape node (getting error message: pfxHairShape1 is not of type kStroke).

Any ideas if I could pipe stuff using existing nodes? I basically want to hack in some kind of a pfx hair system instancer where I could instance geometry onto every dynamic hair curve using the pfxToArray node.

A current option for me is to not use the attach to hair system option at all and instead attach the pfx stroke to each hair output curves and then share one pfx brush over all the strokes so that editing attributes is easier. Then I would have to create one instancer node with the pfxToArray connections for each output curve/pfx stroke whcih could bog the scene down.

Cheers,
Sachin

I fixed the problem. It was not really a problem i was doing little too tight checking for the input connections inside the pfxToArray node. I loosened it a bit so pfxHair data can flow through it. Will push a new update tonight.

Ok, pushed the new update 2011-05-01.
pfxHair nodes are supported now in the pfxToArray node.
