Another approach is to pipe the point cloud through particles and render them.
Check the attached scene.

Meanwile... i' was working with the remesh example, the one called remesh1. I enjoyed working with it and found the result very intersting!

I try to get the result as it is in the example, but didn't get it, don't know why. Where is the problem? that's one thing i would like to ask, if you could help me, please. Fortunatlly I pass throw this problem working with te remesh: mode in unoriented points. 

I attach the scene file. 

The other thing a bit strenge that happend is that, i worked and get cool deformatios effect so i saved the scene and close. But when i went the next day and open it nothing occurs with the source shape. No remesh so any.
