Hey guys,

I have an alembic cache of a Bifrost mesh I made and I'm trying to map the vertex color of the mesh to a ramp based on velocity. Exactly like the preview when you're simulating Bifrost. Is there a way of doing this?

Right now I am using the Point Node and have it working ramping values on red but I want to be able to use a color ramp to choose the colors based on velocity

this is the expression in the point node Im using and result im getting

vector $colorMag = <<$CR,$CG,$CB>>;

float $colorMagFloat = mag($colorMag);

$R=$colorMagFloat/3000;

$G=0;

$B=0;

This can be achieved, I tested before.
But can not be derived after the abc, in the export before the use of vdb node to generate the grid, with the remap node, check the user's gradient can achieve your own want color.

Can you explain a little more? I'm not using a VDB node to generate the grid I am Alembic Caching the Bifrost mesh that is created with the other Bifrost nodes. Are you saying I should be using VDB nodes to mesh this instead?

Thank You,
Jordan
